Pear Crumble TartWhen your neice picks your home-made pear crumble tart over a patissiere made cake...you know you are onto a WINNER! This tart is seriously easy to make with a pear filling inside this crusty tart base, topped with an oat and almond crumble.
Lemon DropsImmune boosting recipe no.3: Lemon drops. Lemon is a great source of Vitamin C which is critical for our immune system. With time and ease of preparation in mind, I have cheated a little with this recipe and used store bought gow gee wrappers. You can find gluten-free wrappers at some health food stores otherwise there are recipes online too. These wrappers go so crispy once baked and work perfectly as a cup or tartlet alternative.
Moringa Oat SliceImmune boosting recipe no.2: Moringa oat slice. Moringa is known as the miracle tree in many parts of southern Asia due to its nutrient dense properties and benefits. It is rich in ginseng and has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic and immune-stimulant properties. With so much of goodness, I just had to use it to supercharge this oat slice. You can find moringa powder at most health food stores.
Ginger CookiesThis is the first in a series of immune boosting recipes: Ginger Cookies. They are an all-time classic and the ginger in them helps your immune system. I have replicated it here using gluten-free, vegan and refined sugar-free ingredients! As an added bonus, this is a super easy recipe to make with kids so get them involved.
Apricot CrumbleI used apricots from the Odd Bunch at Woolies to make this crumble because a crumble doesn't really care about how good your apricots look! So much of perfectly delicious produce is simply wasted because it doesn't quite look right, but initiatives like the Odd Bunch are a fantastic way to reduce that. In this crumble the apricots are paired with lime and wait for it... cardamom! Really? Yes trust me - it is such a winning combination. Or even better - make the recipe and try for yourself.
Peanut Butter Pancake StackThe best mornings are when you wake up to the smell of freshly made pancakes, or for the inner chef in all of us, when you wake up and make delicious pancakes for breakfast. Not just boring pancakes, let's get creative, let's add some magic to them! How about peanut butter, banana and chocolate chip vegan pancakes, served in a stack with peanut maple and chocolate sauce dripping down the sides? And the pièce de résistance - topped with some chopped Choc Cardamom Blind Dates. That's my kinda morning!
