Hello! I’m Gayithri, the founder of Gaia Tree.
Growing up in Lautoka, a small town in tropical Fiji, I fed my deep obsession for luscious food. Holding strong female influences close to me, my grandma, mother and aunty gifted me with their treasured recipes.
Family gatherings were also anything but ordinary. Morish, mouth-watering meals crowded the table — all made with love.
Weekends were filled with countless hours perfecting cakes, scones and desserts. Inspired by the untouched and lush paradise around me, cooking and baking with natural ingredients was a given.
Being grounded in my roots encouraged me to follow my true passion. So after establishing a 13-year career in IT, I said: “challenge accepted”. I finally traded the corporate world for the comfort of my happy place, the kitchen.
Today, Gaia Tree is a female-owned, thriving business in Sydney’s beautiful northwestern hills district. Supported by my hubby Dinesh, we craft hand-made joyful treats with an island twist, just for you.

We adopt the powerful community support reflected in Fijian lifestyle. We strive for women in Pacific rural communities to achieve a better and more stable life. Our cocao and spices are sourced from Zonah United who help marginalised women make a regular and consistent income. Assisting them with training and employment in agriculture helps these courageous women make a safe and happy environment for their children and families.
To preserve the delicate soil we live on, we support not-for-profit organisation One Tree Planted and registered charity Sleepy Burrows Wombat Sanctuary.
This means your purchase, big or small, plants a tree to help reforest Australia. $1 from every drinking chocolate sold will help support wombats in Gundaroo NSW under serious threat from habitat loss, mange (a deadly skin disease), motor vehicles, wild dogs and foxes.
